The Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIASC) Junior Builder Program
BIASC created the first Junior Builder program in 2019 as an annual summer camp designed to give local youth the opportunity to learn more about the homebuilding industry with online home design contests and interaction with industry leaders. This one-day camp event taught participants about honoring the history and future of Southern California, while learning about principles associated with design and building.
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the program remained dormant until BIASC leadership presented the opportunity to the Junior Builder alumni to reconvene and assist with the BIASC’s float for the 2023 Rose Parade®.
Junior Builder is kicking off its new season of three-day discovery camps in June of 2023 with the support of SoCalGas, while planning additional camps for local and underserved youth in other Southern California regions.
